Fishing

The operational fishing activity basically can be set into two parts: open water season and closed water season (ice fishing).
On open water season fishing usually takes place from casting, fly fishing to trolling depending on customer and the catch we´re after. On closed water season we mainly ice fish - must be mentioned that company offers a chance to see professional fisherman at work even during the wintertime (please, ask for more if you are interested on this one).
If you are keen on old local fishing methods for example "tuulastus"/ fishing with trident, net fishing etc. there is a possibility to experience them.

The company´s policy is to operate as with method of C & R - catch and release. But depending on locations and species, there might be a possibility to take the fish (usually in Lapland tribe of salmon fishes are regulated). Maybe you would enjoy cooking diner from the catch or trophee might come in to a question. In any case, we go through this matter before starting to fish and follow the sustainable guideline.
Lapland Fishing obeys inter alia the protocols and etiquette of Lapin Kalastusmatkailu ry / Fishing Lapland and Suomen Kalastusopaskilta ry.

When we are fishing, we´ll keep in mind that we´re not the only ones around...
Video clip above shows one fishing morning on base camp Ounas: early morning that didn´t bring any graylings, but a great experience with the neighbour who took a very impressive but rather unnecessary u turn.

Guiding

During your trip guiding, as a service, will take place in such fashion as desired. Usually guiding is full time, something like half day or only "start package operational" - everything starts from the customer and from the environment.
Guide also takes care of the permits needed and makes sure that everybody is taken care of in terms of clothes, food, equipment etc. First step towards the experience to remember - and maybe the catch of the lifetime - starts from the professional guide, who knows the environment, waters and species we are after.

Accommodation

The company has two base camps for fishing. The base camp Pello has basically small house equipment - running water, electricity with fridge, freezer, oven etc. - the basic kitchen tools and wooden sauna waits for you.
The base camp Ounas is more like traditional Finnish cabin, "mökki" as we Finns call them. Most Finns prefer the cabin to be without electricity and running water and such luxuries. This way you´ll be connected more to the nature, to the environment. Though this cabin has a solar electricity system producing lights and possibility to charge phone/laptop and you´ll find also gas stove/oven and fridge.

There is a basic point that depending on accommodations location and quality wanted, company will arrange it for you from it's collaborator actors, if needed.
You have possibility to rent the cabin itself without any fishing etc. services - product tailoring prevails here also. The base camp Ounas area offers graylings, trouts, pikes and perch among other species.
So enjoy the summer as Finn; rent your Finnish summer place with equipment!

Outdoors

If you´re into kayaking or canoeing, Rovaniemi area offers you various places to practice this hobby. Ask for equipment and offer, if you´re interested.
Lapland offers also excellent environment for hiking, biking etc.

Local trips

Lapland Fishing offers you also packages of "Local trips". The basis of this is that company offers transportation and guiding to zoo´s, landmarks etc here in Lapland.
